CCA Auctions “Yore” Merchandise to Raise Funds!
Last night was the Coastal Conservation Association Banquet and auction and though I wasn’t able to attend, I understand that it was a smashing success. In case you don’t know, CCAGA is a non-profit organization comprised of mostly recreational fishermen. The group has done much to bolster coastal wildlife conservation and is known throughout the southeast for hosting spectacular fishing tournaments and banquets to raise money for their cause. I did and article on CCAGA for Richmond Hill Reflections in the last issue, which was the yearly “green” themed issue.
My editor told me that last night; a signed poster of Kenny’s cover artwork and a signed copy of “The Other Side of Yore” got bid up to $80!!
We’re both happy that there’s such an interest in the book on a local level, and that we were able to help raise a little bit of cash for the important cause.
In other news, “The Other Side of Yore” is now available through the Statesboro Library System, which also encompasses Bryan County. We will be doing a few special events at the Richmond Hill branch this Fall, which will tie in withy a signing at Barnes and Noble Savannah and the release of our “Songs from The Other Side of Yore” album.
We’d like to once again thank everyone for the awesome continued support, and we ask that if you are a member of your local library to please request a copy of “The Other Side of Yore” the next time you go to check out or return books! Libraries are always looking for new children’s books, and most will accommodate your needs. You’ll be helping out our endeavors as well as those of Amphibian Ark, because a portion of library profit is always donated to them!
I hope that you are all enjoying the weekend; ya’ll come back now, ya hear?
