Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
I hope everyone has a great three day weekend planned; I know I’m going to enjoy it!
I hope to get the majority of my latest short story, Megalania, done by next week and am glad for the time off. I’m having alot of fun writing it; it’s about the now sunken continent of Sundaland, which disappeared at the end of the last glacial maximum (11,600 years ago), and the strange creatures that once inhabited it. I’m not sure where it will be published yet, but I have quite a few options so I’ll keep you up to date.
In other news, we’re planning a fundraiser for World Environment Day on June 5th.
If you purchase a copy of “The Other Side of Yore” online on World Environment Day, June 5th, we will donate 100% of all author/royalties to AmphibianArk.com to help the fight to stop amphibian decline!
If you know about chytrid fungus, which is decimating populations of frogs and other amphibians all over the planet, you’ll understand that this is an extremely important cause. And when you buy your copy on World Environment Day, you’ll be getting a great read as well as a preorder of the CD that goes along with it, all while helping to save your amphibian cousins from extinction!
Just remember to save your receipt from the purchase and contact frawg@theothersideofyore.com for information about sending it in for credit!
Please remember that we must collect your receipt in order to determine that your copy was purchased on World Environment Day. You can scan it and mail it to Frawg or request the PO Box addy where it may be sent via the email addy above.
We always donate a small percentage of our royalties to this special cause, but on special days we donate a whole lot more! So Kenny and I encourage you to participate if you are financially able and interested in ”The Other Side of Yore” and in helping to save amphibians from an unfortunate fate.
That’s all for now; thanks everyone for reading and I hope you’ve enjoyed my posts!

Hi Joe,
Have just had lovely time meeting your Frawg – Frog the dog and i often go into primary schools to run writing workshops, and it is just the most fun.
Have got Myspace on my list of things to do – how do you find it for raising your profile?
And how do you find Cafepress for your merchandise?
I’m about to re-launch my website with an online shop full of frogtastic stuff that will become available over the summer, which is very exciting, but i have no idea how it will all go! All these new tehnologies….
Good to meet you, see you around!
Bimmy
Hi Bimmy!
Myspace is alot of fun and I think it helps to get the word out, but it takes a bit of time adding friends who share interests in children’s books, and it gets a bit spammy sometimes.
I like Cafepress for the moment because it makes some extra merchandise available to the readers who want it without costing alot of up-front money, but of course the ideal situation is getting the merchandise printed by a wholesale distributor and selling it off of your own website.
Looking forward to seeing your website and shop this summer, and I wish you great luck!
Will have to meet up on myspace then!
I admire musicians enormously, it such an amazing skill to have – what do you enjoy most – music or writing??
Well I enjoy music more, per say, because when you are playing with other people it just releases endorphins and gives you a natural high you just can’t get anywhere else. But I tend to feel more of a feeling of accomplishment from writing a good book or story than I do after writing a good song. Maybe it’s because I’ve completed alot more songs than I have books and stories!
Aha! this must be a cue for a song!
Didnt i read that you are working on some music to accompany the Days of Yore? Combining the two – that’s a bonus!
Frog has recently commisioned his very own theme music, for our wagsite and our new audio CD, and we are VERY excited about it! Partly because it is yet another facet of Frog the Dog World, but much more because its so inpsiring to hear someone else’s interpretation of what we do. As we have done everything ourselves up until now, having other outside input is a very novel and interesting experience. the musician told us he didnt usualy write happy music, so it was a novel experience for him too
What will be your next trick?
