Back On Yore Side
Sorry it’s taken so long since my last installment- I’ve been away from a computer for a spell. With girlfriend Tammie and son (Alden) I have been to Palm Beach and Orlando Florida on vacation.
In Palm Beach we saw a shark roaming the shallow after the lifeguards ushered everyone off the beach. It was about 6 feet long and you could see him clearly from the beach.
It makes me think how many sharks do the same thing in the beaches where I live, unnanounced because the water is nowhere near as clear as that of Palm Beach- in fact it’s pitch green at Tybee. Just please, my friends, don’t swim near piers!
We also went to Seaworld- the Shamu Show was completely spellbinding. His flipper had to be at least 6 feet long, and his dorsal was so long that it was flopped over on one side. It was amazing to sea those great predators of the sea being so gentle and acrobatic with the small human divers.
Alden really enjoyed seeing the polar bears, penguines, walruses, belugas, and other creatures on the Wild Artic exhibit and said that Atlantis was the best ride he’d ever been on.
The best part of the whole trip for Tammie and I was probably the afternoon snorkling the reef off the coast of Stuart Florida, and seeing lots of huge red drum, blue runners, and many other brilliantly colored fish that I don’t know the names of.
We also got to hang out with Tammie’s two awesome brothers, Uncle Robert and Uncle Daniel, and went fishing off of the Cocoa Beach pier.
When I got back to work a few days ago, I found that two jobs I had going while I was away were incomplete, because two cabinet installers had quit during the interum, so since then I’ve been pulling doubles (installing the jobs I sold and designed) and haven’t had time to get to the ol’ blog.
I did finally get caught up yesterday about 2 o’clock, just in time to get ready for a party in a loft on Savannah’s famous Broughton Street, where the fireworks cackled and jubilated long into the night.
Well it’s good to be puttin’ finger to keypad once again, and I wish America a Happy Birthday! Hope you all had a great holiday!@
May your hops grow ever long and high,
-J.L.L.
