On a Rainy Afternoon
As many of you know, both of my grandparents, Ed and Arnie Layden passed away recently. They were both incredibly special to me and I know I will miss them every day. But they were also very inspirational to me and their 65 years together is a testament to the power of love. The following is a poem written by my girlfriend for them, and I thought you might enjoy my sharing it with you.
they were beautiful
their love takes my breath away
the light in his blue eyes
faded the day
she had to leave this world behind
so he too said goodbye
because the pain was too much to bear
now with her once again
not here on earth
but in the azure sky so high
filled once again
with a pristine, angelic light
placed back in his shining bright eyes
