What’s a Kindle??
Has the future of book and newspaper reading arrived? Amazon’s new electronic reading device, The Kindle, might just be it! The unit is about the size of a paper-back novel, instantly downlouds books straight from Amazon, and features access to all the major national newspapers. The Kindle can store 200 books, making it a virtual library, and features cutting edge technology that makes the screen seem like a piece of paper: it won’t hurt your eyes after prolonged reading like a lap top will. Below I’ve listed some of the features and provided a link where you can check it out on Amazon- they have videos and presentations of interest on the product’s page.
Will this device be the end of printed books? In my opinion it’s too early to tell, and such technology will have to expand to other venues besides Amazon to really take hold. But the convenience and utility cannot be denied. It’s getting mixed reviews on Amazon as you can see via the link below. My advice is to wait a few months until the price comes down, but if you were planning on sending me one for Christmas that would be the exception to the rule!

Most of all, Kenny and I are very proud of The Other Side of Yore for being among the first 88,000 books to be made available on Kindle! So far the reception has been really great, and if you are a Kindle owner we hope you take advantage of the lower price! This might be the perfect contraption to use at bedtime for reading to YORE son or daughter!
