On Yore Side

J. Lyon Layden, Kenny Savage, and Eric Layden are currently hard at work on their next musical album! ”Songs from the Other Side of Yore” will feature songs from the book “The Other Side of Yore,” with extended lyrics and instrumentation, as well as brand new songs in which Frawg and his friends sing of their many adventures!

The release date is tentatively set for October of 2007, and purchasers of the current first edition paperback version of “The Other Side of Yore” are eligible for a FREE download of the album or a FREE CD (small SandH fee required) upon its release!

These three musicians have a long history of playing and recording together, and the Layden brothers have performed for crowds of over 16,000 in the states (Atlanta Jazz Festival in the Saskia Laroo Festival) and crowds of over 6,000 in Europe (Almere Jazz Festival with Rosa King). They are all seasoned musicians, having shared the stage or played with such well-known musicians as Deedee Bridgewater, Terence Blanchard, Sonny Rollins, Chucho Valdez, Dr. Dan Matrazzo, Kristina Beaty, J.C. Falk, Eric Culberson, Sheila E., and Medeski Martin and Wood, for a short list.

 The songs featured on the upcoming album will cover many styles, including frawg-rock, folk and americana, jazz, frawgrass, blues, and pop.

 Our criteria for whether a song stays or goes is simple: if the kids in our neighborhood sing along and dance to it on Saturday, and remember the words until the NEXT Saturday, then it’s a keeper. If they don’t, it goes!
